Das Europäische Emissionshandelssystem (EU ETS) verfolgt als marktwirtschaftliches Instrument das Ziel, die CO₂-Emissionen in den Sektoren Industrie, Energie und dem Flugverkehr in der EU zu senken. Am 17. Juli 2026 hat die EU-Kommission ihren neuen Vorschlag zur Review des EU-Emissionshandels vorgelegt.
