The plastic crisis isn’t far away. It’s here – always and everywhere, all over the planet. And it’s not just sea turtles or albatrosses who are affected – it’s all of us.

While tons of plastic waste are washing into our oceans every minute, researchers are finding microplastics in more and more places: In the deepest parts of the sea, in the Arctic, in the air – and even inside the human body.

The full scale of the problem is still unknown. But one thing seems already clear: A world full of plastic waste poses serious threats to people and nature alike.

Stop the plastic flood – Make visible what is destroying us!

Starting on August 5th, 2025, UN member states will meet in Geneva for the final negotiation of a global plastic treaty. If a strong treaty is agreed upon, it would be a huge win for ocean protection and a circular economy world wide. But these negotiations are about more than just policy – they’re about the future of our planet. Our future. This issue is too important. Our voices must be heard.

That’s why we’re bringing the voices of young people from all over the world directly to the negotiations. And we are bringing the plastic waste with us!

We need all of you! Help us shine a light on the plastic crisis by taking pictures where you see it – in nature, in the city, at home, or anywhere you experience the plastic flood. From all the pictures we receive, we’ll create a huge mosaic to hand over in Geneva on International Youth Day, August 12, 2025.

Together, we will send a clear and unmistakable message: Stop the plastic flood. For nature. For people. For our future. Just two days before the summit’s conclusion, this might be the moment that tips the decisions in the right direction.
